Travel Bursaries
A limited number of travel bursaries are available to those travelling from outside the Metro Vancouver / Fraser Valley region who would not be otherwise be able to attend. Bursaries will be awarded on a rolling basis up until the availability limit listed below. Please note that, per university regulations, you will be required to submit a reimbursement form, receipts, ticket stubs, and applicable personal information after the conference to claim your funds. A cheque will be issued approximately one month after your forms and paperwork are received.
To apply, please write a free-form letter that specifies the region you are traveling from, the amount you are requesting, any circumstances that are relevant (eg, if your employer normally funds professional development, have you accessed those funds already?), and any plans you have to make your participation in this event extend further in your region (eg, sharing a summary in an employee newsletter or with your not-for-profit organization). Email your letter to wwest (at) mech (dot) ubc (dot) ca.
